Rappelling Toronto City Hall in 2017

by Kit Moore

For each of the past five years, Make-A-Wish Canada has held a fund-raising rappel down the 30 stories from the top of City Hall. In 2012, I decided to do this Rope for Hope in honour of my late wife, Marty, and I've been inspired by Make-A-Wish to do the rappel each year since then. Make-a-Wish Canada has an impressive mission; it grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions, with a view to giving them increased hope, strength and enjoyment of life. 2016 Rope for Hope Team

The Toronto Climbers team is now in place for 2017, and 22 of us will be rappelling on Friday, June 9 from the top of Toronto City Hall. Our goal is to raise $50,000 for Make-A-Wish Canada in this 2017 Rope for Hope campaign. To help us reach this goal, please consider making a donation to Make-A-Wish on behalf of one or more of our team members. To see a list of Toronto Climbers, go to and click on DONATE NOW, then enter Toronto Climbers in the search criteria to get a full list of all 22 team members. Click on the name of the team member you wish to support to get to their personal site, make a donation and receive a tax receipt.

Help Make-a-Wish grant magical wishes to children by supporting Toronto Climbers in their Rope for Hope rappel!
