This event is for experienced climbers interested in learning Traditional Style (Trad) Climbing.

The clinic will give you the chance to second and clean gear and to mock lead to practice placing gear.

There will be an opportunity to lead on 5.1-5.5 climbs, for those who can demonstrate an understanding and ability to build an anchor.

To participate in this course, you must know how to belay a leader and catch a leader fall. It’s helpful if you can rappel. Trip Classification is B.

Participants: 4-6, dependent on leader availability

COST: Park fee around $7.

GEAR: Helmet (mandatory), harness, climbing shoes, belay device, rope, long slings, biners, protection gear, nut tool, lunch, water, sunscreen and insect repellent/clothing.

1. Are you an ACC member?
2. Do you know how to belay a leader and catch a leader fall?
