Pub Night: Jim Everard – “Bugaboos”
April 11, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
“The Bugaboos represent a feeling more than anything else; a feeling of abilities tested, challenges met, new friends made and old friends brought closer by the shared experience.”
Tay Hanson, Climbing Ranger, BC Provincial Parks
Jim Everard hopes to bring you on a new journey – or jog your memory – to this magical place. Jim has been climbing in the area since the 1990’s and enjoyed many fine and/or gripping climbs on the granite spires, including Snowpatch, Pigeon (& Feather), Bugaboo, Crescent and others. He will dispense many gems of climbing wisdom, most already known by everyone, including why NOT to climb the Bugaboo Gendarme in plastic Koflach boots!
Jim has had the pleasure of losing climbing gear in mountain ranges such as the Pamirs, Himalaya, various Alps, Cordillera de los Andes and the many ranges in Canada’s west, including the Purcells, home of the Bugs. He has put up/completed dozens of new rock routes/first ascents in Canada.
7:30pm in the Imperial Pub back room (54 Dundas St E., Toronto)
