Film Festivals

Each year, the Toronto Section hosts two film festivals during “shoulder season” between the rock climbing and snow/ice activities.

In March, a select group of films from the renowned The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival (BMFF) are shown at the Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema  located at Bloor and Bathurst. This event, held over three days, showcases the best films from the October festival which takes place in Banff.  Three two and a half hour programs, comprised of films ranging in duration from 1 minute to over 60 minutes, run over four shows. With ticket sales starting in the preceding fall, sold out shows are common, so, get your tickets early. Visit the BMFF website for tickets and program information.

Each October, since 2015, the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival films are in Toronto for one show at the Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema located at Bloor and Bathurst. The program runs about two and a half hours with intermission and is comprised of short films ranging in duration from 1 minute to over an hour. This event is a great way to see adventurers from around the world share their stories. Visit VIMFF website for tickets and program information.
