Bon Echo long weekend

UPDATE: This weekend has been extended to Wednesday, perfect for those who can get an extra two days off.

Bon Echo has a large number of trad routes (no sport routes) on a cliff rising out of the lake. Because the cliff lies within a provincial park, there are rules that must be observed (mandatory helmets is one). Make yourself familiar with them at the section website: alpineclubtoronto.ca/bonecho/
 
The ACC hut is on the far side of the lake, and most climbers are brought there by the club boat. Usual pickup times at the public dock on North Mazinaw Heights Rd. are 10:30 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Other times must be arranged ahead of time with the custodian.

HUT FEES: Members: $20 per day/night. Non-members: $40 per day/night. Fees include boat transport to the dock and cliff.

WHAT TO EXPECT: The hut is for cooking and eating only, with dinnerware and cooking equipment provided. Climbers sleep in their own tents. Please pack out your garbage. Last boat trip to the dock is 5 p.m. Sunday (unless custodian advises otherwise). Please respect custodian’s right to go home at a reasonable hour.
