WHAT: Intro to Slack Country Skiing

Are you a good resort skier looking for something more? This trip will expand your horizons in a comfortable, supportive environment,.

Open to intermediate skiers who are comfortable on black slopes and can negotiate intermediate moguls in Ontario. The trip is 5 days. Day 1 explores Kicking Horse Resorts. Days 2 and 3 are spent in AST 1 training. Days 4 and 5 are spent exploring the slack country adjacent to the resort. This trip is not suitable for snowboarders/splitboarders.

COST: Cost of the trip is estimated at $1020. This includes a 2 day AST 1 course, 3 days of lift tickets, 6 nights accommodations. Rental gear is available for and additional $112 per day, if required. Airfare, meals and transportation are not included in the cost. A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of $500 is due on January 15th to secure your spot on the trip. The balance is due on February 15th. Participants are responsible for any cost overruns.

GEAR: 30 liter backpack and appropriate ski wear. Alpine touring skis, boots and poles. Avalanche transceiver (digital, multi-antenna), metal avalanche shovel and avalanche probe (minimum 265 cm). Rentals are available for $112 per day for five days with up to two extra days free if required. Rentals include ksis, boots, bindings, poles, pack, transceiver, probe and shovel.
