Women’s Ice Clinic! With Ice Ace Jen Olson

Friday, Feb. 1 to Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019

Highly accomplished ACMG Alpine Guide Jen Olson will teach Toronto-area women to the dark arts of ice and mixed climbing. If you are a beginner, you will learn the sport. If you are an experienced climber, you will have an opportunity to hone your technique and take it to the next level.

Curriculum will be tailored to participants. Topics covered include:
· movement skills (i.e. how to climb better)
· equipment use, gear placement and other technical issues
· hazard evaluation and safety concerns
· lead strategies, mental training, staying warm

This event is suitable for all climbers regardless of experience, and particularly to current and aspiring ACC trip leaders. Open to all Toronto Section members. Maximum of eight participants, with priority given to female climbers.

ESTIMATED COST: $600, including two nights’ accommodations in the Bancroft area. Subject to adjustment depending on final cost estimates. Important: trip participants are responsible for all unforeseen cost overruns.
