Description
CANADIAN RED CROSS WILDERNESS AND REMOTE FIRST AID CERTIFICATION
20+ hours of instruction by David Dick (Alpha Response). Highly recommended participants stay overnight on site to maximize instruction and training time, as well as allow night scenarios.
$350+ HST and Paypal fees $407.37/student first aid materials and accommodation. Does not include meals. 100% non-refundable/non-transferrable deposit will be required for registration.
Pre-requisites: None.
Gear: No specific climbing gear required. Personal equipment for early spring tenting or sleeping in small bunkie required.
Basic level of Wilderness & Remote First Aid that covers material in Standard First Aid & CPR, plus special material on techniques for wilderness and remote areas. Course also offers strategies for providing extended care for up to 24 hours. Most of the course is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical first aid training.
The Everton Scout Camp facility includes bunk house cabins for overnight accommodation. Also on site there is a cliff with large ledge, making it a great teaching setting for climber focussed first aid and rescue.
Minimum of 8 participants required to offer this course. Maximum of 16.
