Family Day Weekend in the Adirondacks

This is a four-day weekend celebration of all things “winter”. Activities include cross-country, backcountry and downhill skiing, snowshoeing, ice climbing, and winter mountaineering. We will be staying four nights at the Trail’s End Inn in the heart of the Adirondacks, where dinners and breakfasts are included. You can either bring your own lunches or arrange for the friendly hosts to make one for you. Objectives can be discussed with the trip leaders.
Cost: $500 CAD ($250CAD non-transferable/non-refundable deposit required at time of registration)
Gear: Ice climbing requires helmet, harness, technical boots, crampons, ice tools, belay device, parka, warm gloves, thermos, and lunch. Group gear is available.
Mountaineering requires all of the above plus a second pair of gloves, snowshoes, balaklava, ski goggles, ski poles and navigational aids.
Anyone travelling in avalanche terrain must carry a beacon, probe and shovel and must be trained in how to use them. This is ACC policy. Avalanche gear can be rented from MEC.

Max participants: The event is configured for 16 participants but more can be added.
Trip Classification: A,B and C Activities are available at all levels of ability and experience.
