For those attending in person at The Pilot (Stealth Lounge), please have proof of membership (if you wish to participate in club business), and proof of vaccination. For those joining via Zoom, please join with the same email used on your ACC profile. Also note that admitting people into zoom might take some time so please be patient as we let you in. It is our hope that we can hold our Annual General Meeting in person this year, at the Pilot Stealth Lounge in downtown Toronto. We are waiting to see if the Ontario government will change the legislation regarding indoor events, so we are unable at this point to know for certain what the capacity limits for this event will be. Naturally, only fully vaccinated members will be eligible to attend in person, as it is in a restaurant facility. We expect to offer a virtual option for those unable to attend in person. In March 2021, a climber in Utah inadvertently bolted three routes (about 5.3) on top of and near Native American rock art, estimated to be 1,000 year old petroglyphs. The climber who had mistakenly identified the rock art as modern-day graffiti, has since taken responsibility for his conduct and has openly apologized for his mistake. The annual South Ontario Ice Fest is this weekend! All events are hosted online – one even featuring our very own section chair, Bryan Thompson! To register for clinics and presentations, please buy a pass in the FestShop. The afternoon section of the festival contains presentations on technique, movement, safety, and leading on ice. The festival contains two evening presentations: At 7:15 pm Ian Welsted talks about ‘Avoiding Hockey: From the Wheat Fields to the Mountains’ And at 8:15 pm, a fireside chat with Barry Blanchard on ‘My Favourite Eastern Climbs’.
