Applications for the 2025 ACC Summer Leadership Course are now being accepted. This year’s course will take place during the 4th week of the 2025 Hatteras Group GMC, in the Northern Selkirks of British Columbia from July 26th to August 2nd, 2025. Tickets for clinics at Madawaska Ice Fest 2025 are now available for purchase! The ice festival, organized by the Toronto Section, has partnered with Muskoka Mountain Works and One Axe Pursuits to run two solid days of ice climbing clinics. Participants of any skill level are welcome; membership not required to participate. There are limited spots for the clinics and dinner so don’t delay! We’re excited to announce that our guest speaker for our 2024 Annual General Meeting at The Pilot, Stealth Lounge (2nd Floor) will be Pascale Marceau. Pascale is an explorer, mountaineer and consultant in high-risk industry based out of the Canadian Rockies. She has over 25 years of mountain adventuring and has recently been focusing on remote, cold weather, exploratory firsts. Applications for the 2025 ACC Winter Leadership Course are now being accepted. This year’s course will be based out of the beautiful Fairy Meadows Hut in the Selkirk Mountains from January 18th to 25th, 2025. It will focus on planning and management of ski touring trips, group management, risk theory, avalanche terrain evaluation, and route finding among other skills. We’re looking for some members that will be able to help with organizing next year’s section camp. If you are interested in helping to select, plan, and organize the next section camp, we want you! Some options for location currently under consideration are: BC, the Rockies, the Tetons, Chamonix, or possibly somewhere you think is worthwhile. Mountaineering experience preferred, but not required. Looking for folks who can commit 1-3hrs a months over the winter to organize the trip.
