June 15 and 16, 2019, Bruce Trail from Woodend to Mountainview Conservation Area
Join us for two days, one night of hiking on the Bruce Trail. We’ll bag 51 KMs, have an opportunity to test our gear and get in shape for extended trips later in the season. There will be hiking on Bruce Trail Maps 2 to 4, as we immerse ourselves in the outdoors.
We need a minimum of two participants that have a car for the car shuttle. Max 8 participants.

Meet at 9 a.m. at Mountainview Conservation Area
Day 1: Meet at Car Shuttle Location: Woodend Conservation Area 4174 Mountainview Rd, Beamsville, ON L0R 1B2
Begin to hike at 10 a.m. to Wilderness Site at Mt Wetaskiwin Scout Camp: 3072 Scout Camp Rd, St. Catharines, ON L2R 6P7. We will hike approximately 21 kms
Pace: Medium pace to ease into the hike. Limber up to be ready for day 2.
Day 2: Approx 31 KMs.
Early start, fast pace, minimal breaks. Will feel sore.
End at car shuttle and drive home late!
Gear – Camping gear (tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, stove). Hiking gear (clothing, good shoes, headlamps), food and water for the weekend. Blister care and first aid kit.
Cost: Between $15 – $20 per person for stay of one night. Food, gas and entrance fees are the responsibility of the participant. Some conservation areas charge an entrance/parking fee around $7. If you have one, carry your Bruce Trail Membership Card with you. Members walking through are exempt from the entrance fee. In Halton, members with cards also park free.
A $15 to $20 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit is required upon registration. Prices are subject to change due to unforeseen events or costs, and participants are responsible for any overflow costs.
Bring cash for possible entrance fees and an emergency.
Notes: Alcohol is prohibited in the campsite. Prepare for cooking to be done with backpacking stoves though campfire might be possible.
Whatever you pack in you must pack out. Participants will be contacted to arrange non-mandatory car pooling, sharing of tents, stoves and food.
