Sport Climbing at Mount Nemo

Saturday, June 8, 2019

The Group will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot on Guelph Line and Colling Road

Mount Nemo is the largest Escarpment crag in the Toronto area with more than 200 sport and trad routes. This trip is for more experienced climbers as there is a top-roping ban at Nemo — clifftop anchors for top ropes are not allowed.  Climbers must lead the route from the ground up and then place their own gear on existing fixed anchors if the others want to top-rope it. Therefore,  several lead climbers will be needed.

Participation will be limited to 10 people, at the organizer’s discretion. All participants must be comfortable with lead belaying. Familiarity with cleaning anchors is recommended.

GEAR: Helmet (mandatory), harness, climbing shoes, belay device and locking carabiner, slings and locking carabiners, rope, quickdraws and any other personal items (e.g. lunch, water, clothing, etc).

Cost: $7.00 per person for park entrance fee.

TRIP LEADER: To sign up or get further details, contact Stanis Yu at stanis.yu@gmail.com or Gwen Nguyen at gwen.hnguyen@gmail.com.
