Trip: Cascade Mountains 2022 – July 1 – 18

DESCRIPTION:  Hiking and mountaineering trip in California – Oregon – Washington states.We will travel by car from south to north along Cascades Mountain range while gradually gaining altitude for acclimatization. After 3 days hiking in Yosemite (including the hike to summit Half Dome), we will attempt climbing Mount Shasta (4‎,322 m) if snow/ice routes (such as Avalanche route) will be available. An alternative plan in case there is not enough ice on Shasta is to climb Mt. Saint Helens. Last week of the trip we will climb Mt. When: Sunday, April 24th. Meet at Tew Falls Parking at 8:00AM. The gate will be open for us and proceed to the parking immediately afterwards. This arrangement may be prone to change. When: Saturday, April 23rd @ 8 am at the parking lot Where: Devil’s Punchbowl, Stoney Creek, ON. Description: High angle clean up of trash at one of the most scenic areas on the Niagara Escarpment. Work involves mainly prussiking up and down ropes throughout the main canyon. Contact trip leader for details.
