WHEN: Monday August 8, 2022 – Sunday August 14, 2022
WHERE: Killarney Provincial Park
DESCRIPTION: 6 nights, 7 days through-hike at a moderate pace on hilly, rocky, muddy, variable terrain. First and last day are short for hikes in/out and driving. Time for swimming and resting. Longest, hardest, hilliest day ~20.5 km.
Complete in clockwise direction, westbound from George Lake Campground. Warm up on a moderate trail, cross streams and rivers, follow rocky shores, small lakes. Eastern section offers wetlands, steep inclines and declines and rewards you with a vista of rugged and scenic landscapes over rocky ridges, walking out through forest.
MAXIMUM PARTICIPANTS: 6
PRE-EVENT PLANNING MEETING/S: First week of July in person/zoom to discuss logistics (food, transport, gear list).
GEAR: Camping gear (tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, stove). Hiking gear (clothing, good shoes, headlamps), food. In-reach.
COST: $100 per participant for campsites. Food/gear/transport not included.
