An Update on ACC-YYZ Outdoor Activities

With the recent changes to restrictions in various municipalities, many of our members are wondering if the ACCYYZ will resume running outdoor winter activities in regions where those activities are now permitted.

After once again consulting with local public health units in those regions, and out of respect for their requests (as well as those of the Province of Ontario) that people not travel between regions, we have taken the difficult and heartbreaking decision not to reopen our outdoor activities at this time. It is our hope that as Covid numbers decrease, and when Toronto moves out of the Grey Zone, we will be able to once again offer outdoor events. We will keep you informed as soon as that happens.

In the meantime, we continue to provide virtual pub nites and we still encourage our members to hike, ski or climb outdoors, but only in your local public health regions, and please respect local landowners’ requirements.

This is a difficult time for all of us. With a little more patience, if everyone does their part, we can hopefully return to enjoying our beloved outdoor activities together in the near future.
