Planning ACC-YYZ Outdoor Activities in Upcoming Seasons

Dear ACC Members and Volunteers,
Some of you may be wondering what the ACC-YYZ is planning for the spring and summer with regard to outdoor activities and the opening of the Bon Echo season. Your board of directors has two main priorities in mind: your safety during this pandemic, and your need to get out and enjoy our outdoor activities.
Following the recommendations of Ontario Public Health, we will resume outdoor activities once the City of Toronto moves out of the Grey Level of restrictions. We do not know when that will be, so keep checking our website and ClimbOn for updates.
If you are interested in volunteering as a custodian at Bon Echo, or in leading a rock climbing or hiking trip for the ACC-YYZ, please be considering when you would like to do that, what kind of trip you would like to run, and familiarize yourself with the COVID safety protocols we have put in place. That way, when Toronto does move out of the Grey Level, we can get your trip booked on our calendar and hit the ground running!
In the meantime, we are looking for speakers for our virtual Pub Nites in May and June! Please contact Bryan Thompson at patrowski@hotmail.com if you have an exciting tale to share with us.
We hope that, as everyone does their part, and as the vaccines roll out, the numbers of this third wave will soon go down and we can resume having fun together outdoors!
Until then, stay healthy and safe!

Bryan Thompson,

Chair, ACC Toronto Section

On Behalf of your Board of Directors
