Clinic: Intro to Trad Climbing – May 28 & June 11

WHEN:
May 28, 2022 – Women and Gender Diverse Series
June 11, 2022 – Open to All

WHERE:  Kelso or Rattlesnake Conservation Area; TBD at a later date.

DESCRIPTION:  This event is for those who are either needing to brush up on their trad skills, or for climbers interested in learning about trad climbing.  The clinic will provide an opportunity to second and clean gear, mock lead, and learn or practice anchor building and rappelling.  

There will be opportunity to lead on 5.1-5.5 climbs, for those who demonstrate the ability to build an anchor and place gear.

To participate in this clinic, you should know how to lead belay.  

MAX PARTICIPANTS:  10, depending on leader availability

COST:  Park entrance fee to Halton Conservation Area

GEAR:  Helmet (mandatory), harness, climbing shoes, belay device, trad gear and rope (optional), lunch, water, sunscreen and insect repellant.
