Trip: San José de Maipo, Chile – Mar 28 – Apr 6

WHEN: March 28th – April 6th 2025 inclusive of travel.

WHERE: San José de Maipo (Santiago area) Chile

DESCRIPTION: This trip will be a way to escape the tail end of Canadian winter in the southern hemisphere and enjoy four days of Trad and Sport Rock Climbing, and 2 days of trekking in Cajón del Maipo area of Chile. One day of rest is planned to account for weather and administration. Participants must be either able to trad lead or top roper belay with a grigri, with an appropriate mix of participants. Participants must also be capable of full day hikes with a 20lb pack, living in shared accommodations (Airbnb), and collaborate on meal prep in a group setting. We will attempt to accommodate individual needs where practical. All participants will be reviewed by the Trip Leader prior to paying deposit.

COST:
Total Estimated Cost: $2000 CAD including round trip flights (YYZ to SCL). Air transportation is at member’s expense.
Downpayment: $100
Installments: Full price of Airbnb and Rental Car two weeks before trip, groceries as per group.
Refunds: No refunds on deposit. Partial refunds on full installments will be issued where possible.

GEAR:
Team Equipment: 1 Trad climbing gear rack per team of 2
Personal equipment: Belay Device, Rappel device, rope, personal safety equipment including helmet. Rain gear, warm trekking gear for higher altitude, jumars or equivalent, trekking poles recommended.

WAIVER: Signing of ACC trip waiver is mandatory. Please read and be aware of the ACC waiver before attending. Members sign the waiver when completing renewal/registration.  Please ensure that your membership is up to date. Non-members are asked to sign the waiver in person when attending.
