When: Thurs Apr 18th @ 7:30 pm Where: Imperial Pub, Back Room – 54 Dundas Street East, Toronto Topic: Long time Toronto section member Quentin Hamilton will talk about his 2019 trip to climb 6,812m high Ama Dablam located in the Khumbu valley in Nepal, a stone throw from Mt. Everest. The trip was the culmination of a 40 year odyssey from being a boy interested in mountaineering in the high mountain ranges, to a better-late-than-never novice climber located in Toronto, to a more experienced climber with the skills and experience to tackle Ama Dablam on an early winter attempt with climbing sherpa support.

When: Thurs Dec 7th @ 7:30 pm Where: Imperial Pub, Back Room – 54 Dundas Street East, Toronto Topic: Join Mark Hurst, Cynthia Chung, Stanis Yu and Bryan Thompson as they recount their trip to the Tantalus Range in BC in July, 2021. Although unconfirmed, the quartet is confident they broke speed climbing records on Mounts Alpha and Serratus! This area will be the location of our 2024 Section Camp. Anyone interested in participating in our Mountaineering Camp next year should definitely not miss this presentation!

The trip, starting in Chengdu, Sichuan and ending in Lhasa, Tibet featured major passes with elevation differences of 1500 m and 2000 m. Fay in the Moraine Lake region spending two nights at Neil Colgan Hut, the highest permanent building in Canada.
