Summer Solstice Camping, Climbing, Hiking Weekend

WHEN: June 21-23, 2024

WHERE: Rattlesnake Conservation Area (Reservations required).

DESCRIPTION: The summer solstice camping, climbing, and hiking weekend at Rattlesnake point is an opportunity to enjoy some of the longest days of summer. Participants bring their own food, climbing/hiking gear, and camping necessities. Note: there is a large shelter with several picnic tables on the campsite.

MAX PARTICIPANTS: 20, at the trip leader’s discretion.

GEAR: Helmet (mandatory for climbing and walking in the crag area), harness, tent, sleeping bag, camping gear, and any other personal items (e.g. knife, fork, spoon, plate, bowl, cup, cooking equipment, food, snacks, water, clothing, sunscreen, bug spray, etc., …).

(OPTIONAL) GEAR: anchor building cordelettes/webbing, locking carabiners and rope.

COST: Participants will share the cost of camping/firewood based on the number of participants. Approximately $30-40 for 2 nights camping depending on the number of participants (includes park entry and campsite fees). Note: $30 non-refundable deposit required at sign-up.

WAIVER: Please read the ACC waiver before attending. Members should ensure that their membership is up to date and have signed the online waiver. Non members should be prepared to sign a full-colour, paper copy of the waiver in ink upon arrival to the event.
