We’re excited to announce that our guest speaker for our 2024 Annual General Meeting at The Pilot, Stealth Lounge (2nd Floor) will be Pascale Marceau. Pascale is an explorer, mountaineer and consultant in high-risk industry based out of the Canadian Rockies. She has over 25 years of mountain adventuring and has recently been focusing on remote, cold weather, exploratory firsts. Some of her major highlights include:
- 2023 Canada’s High Arctic – Ellesmere & Devon Island (7-weeks)
- 2022 Cultural journey dogsledding in Northwest Greenland (4 months, polar night)
- 2021 First all-woman ascent of Mt.Lucania, YT (5,226m)
- 2019 First recorded winter ascent of Mt. Wood, YT (4,860m) & first female winter ascent of a major peak in the subarctic
- 2018 First recorded ascent of Jeannette Peak, BC (3,089m)
- Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society
- Elected member of the Society of Woman Geographers
- Proud Ambassador for Hilleberg The TentMaker
Her talk, Artic Awe will feature her most recent expedition: her 7 week long expedition in 2023.
The goal was simply to be erasing competitiveness and falling in sync with nature. Polar bear encounters, crevassed glaciers and breaking through thin ice… we had no choice but to accept and find ease otherwise difficult circumstances. Discovering how adaptable and resilient humans truly are.
