Mountaineering: Section Camp Committee Members Wanted!

We’re looking for some members that will be able to help with organizing next year’s section camp. If you are interested in helping to select, plan, and organize the next section camp, we want you! Some options for location currently under consideration are: BC, the Rockies, the Tetons, Chamonix, or possibly somewhere you think is worthwhile. Mountaineering experience preferred, but not required. Looking for folks who can commit 1-3hrs a months over the winter to organize the trip. 2024 National ACC AGM – Sat May 25 @ 5 pm (EDT)

A reminder that the Alpine Club of Canada’s (National) 2024 Annual General Meeting will be held in person in Canmore as well as online via Zoom call on Saturday, May 25 at 3:00 pm MDT (5:00 pm EDT). We encourage all members to attend to represent their section. Bon Echo Boat for Sale (now SOLD)

18ft Aluminum Welded Workboat: $15,000 “Mink” hull with self draining floor. Built by Kropf in Parry Sound, 2002. Used as ferry boat on a lake in eastern Ontario for 20 years. Total hours on hull 4015 hours. Current motor about 1500 hours. Motor is 60 hp Johnson 4 stroke (Suzuki 4 cylinder) from about 2002, serviced every year. There is a spare 70 hp motor same as 60 hp with low hours and another 60 hp for parts (bottom end was good when last used). Hydraulic steering and controls were replaced about 1000 hours ago. Reminder: 2024 ACC Summer Leadership Course – Deadline May 27

This is the last call to submit your application for the 2024 ACC Summer Leadership Course! This year’s course will be held in the Remillard Range of the Northern Selkirks from August 3rd to August 10th, 2024. More information about the course can be found on the ACC National website under Summer Leadership Course. Applicants will be required to submit a complete application no later than 11:59 PM (MST) on May 27th, 2024, which includes the following three components:

Just a quick reminder that we’re having our AGM on Nov 11th! This year, our guest speaker is Bronwyn Hodgins! Bronwyn is a professional climber and ACMG Rock Guide based in Squamish, BC. From 13d sport and trad, to big wall first ascents in Greenland and Baffin Island, to becoming the first Canadian woman to free climb El Capitan in Yosemite, Bronwyn’s passion and ambitious goals have taken her around the globe.
