WHEN: Saturday, January 22, 2022 WHERE: Kolapore South Trailhead DESCRIPTION: This is a day of backcountry/cross-country skiing on the beautiful ungroomed and rugged ski trails of the Kolapore Uplands, approximately 20 km southwest of Collingwood. Backcountry Alpine Touring skis with skins or relatively wide cross country skis are acceptable. Narrow skinny skis are unacceptable. Are you interested in challenging yourself by trying to cycle to Bon Echo for a fun climbing weekend?  We are hosting the second annual Epic ACC Triathlon.  As will be our tradition, the event is named after the start location, and the climb to complete. Make-A-Wish Canada is looking for rope volunteers to help with their 10th and final Rope for Hope rappel. This year the rappel will take place on August 13th, from the roof of the 35-storey Westin Harbour Castle Hotel overlooking Toronto’s waterfront. In recent years, many ACC Toronto Section members have joined Kit Moore to raise money for Make-A-Wish, in return for an opportunity to do the Rope for Hope rappel. Ticks bury their heads into the skin of a host’s body to drink blood and are known for spreading Lyme disease and other vector borne illnesses. With the recent changes to restrictions in various municipalities, many of our members are wondering if the ACCYYZ will resume running outdoor winter activities in regions where those activities are now permitted. After once again consulting with local public health units in those regions, and out of respect for their requests (as well as those of the Province of Ontario) that people not travel between regions, we have taken the difficult and heartbreaking decision not to reopen our outdoor activities at this time.
