Time: Tuesday March 23rd, 7:30 pm.Speaker: Roger WallisBio: Roger has been climbing for a very long time.  He joined the ACC when he emigrated to Canada in 1968 and has been a member of the Toronto Section since 1970. He was the Toronto Section’s Mountaineering Chair for 13 years and a long time member of the Leadership Committee. Roger encouraged a generation of Toronto Section members to join him in exploring some relatively unvisited parts of the Coast Ranges, Purcell’s, Selkirks, Monashee’s, Premiers, Cariboo’s, the Rockies, and in particular, six climbing trips to the St.Elias mountains. With the recent changes to restrictions in various municipalities, many of our members are wondering if the ACCYYZ will resume running outdoor winter activities in regions where those activities are now permitted. After once again consulting with local public health units in those regions, and out of respect for their requests (as well as those of the Province of Ontario) that people not travel between regions, we have taken the difficult and heartbreaking decision not to reopen our outdoor activities at this time. If you have some good ideas, just want to help out or have some […]

I am particularly grateful for the many volunteers who have stepped up to lead trips, be custodians, run committees, and serve on your board of […]
