WHERE: Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area (Reservations required). DESCRIPTION: This 9 hour course is designed to give you a solid foundation in performing climbing-related rescue techniques for rappelling, top rope climbing and single pitch lead climbing. You will learn how to ascend and descend your rope with various techniques, conduct mid-rope load transfers, tie rescue knots and hitches, tie off and escape your belay, lower injured climbers and remove hair pulled into a belay or rappel device. When: Thurs Apr 18th @ 7:30 pm Where: Imperial Pub, Back Room – 54 Dundas Street East, Toronto Topic: Long time Toronto section member Quentin Hamilton will talk about his 2019 trip to climb 6,812m high Ama Dablam located in the Khumbu valley in Nepal, a stone throw from Mt. Everest. The trip was the culmination of a 40 year odyssey from being a boy interested in mountaineering in the high mountain ranges, to a better-late-than-never novice climber located in Toronto, to a more experienced climber with the skills and experience to tackle Ama Dablam on an early winter attempt with climbing sherpa support.

This is the last call to submit your application for the 2024 ACC Summer Leadership Course! This year’s course will be held in the Remillard Range of the Northern Selkirks from August 3rd to August 10th, 2024. More information about the course can be found on the ACC National website under Summer Leadership Course. Applicants will be required to submit a complete application no later than 11:59 PM (MST) on May 27th, 2024, which includes the following three components:
