When: Thurs Mar 21st @ 7:30 pm Where: Imperial Pub, Back Room – 54 Dundas Street East, Toronto Topic: Long time Toronto section member Quentin Hamilton will talk about his 2019 trip to climb 6,812m high Ama Dablam located in the Khumbu valley in Nepal, a stone throw from Mt. Everest. The trip was the culmination of a 40 year odyssey from being a boy interested in mountaineering in the high mountain ranges, to a better-late-than-never novice climber located in Toronto, to a more experienced climber with the skills and experience to tackle Ama Dablam on an early winter attempt with climbing sherpa support.

The trip started with our hike to the beautiful alpine hut Cabane De Dix and climbing the summit of La Luette. *Courteously submitted by David Myles Hello all, A note on hut logbooks follows: Two longtime Section members, (David Brown and Chris Rogers, I believe) have done an extensive scan of the Bon Echo Hut log books into PDF form. These are fascinating records of climbing on Mazinaw cliff, particularly in the early days, when many of our favourite routes were established.
